New Years Resolutions 2020

It's New Years Day!

Here are 12 resolutions for what I want to accomplish this year:

1. Declutter and organize my house. After moving last summer, my new house just never quite got set up right. Days after we moved in, school started and I've been busy ever since. We traveled a lot during the autumn, which took us away from our home. I'm finally ready to buckle down and tackle my home to make it a place I want to spend time.

2. Exercise. Nothing in the world helps me like exercise does. It improves my mental clarity and focus, my mental health, my physical health and physique, my self esteem...

More specifically, my goals are to walk 10,000 steps and do at least 20 minutes of yoga, 5 days a week. I also plan to do at least 2 strength sessions a week.

3. Self-care. I'm big on self-care,and it's the first thing that flies out the window when I'm stressed out and busy. But nothing makes me feel amazing like knowing I'm taking care of myself. Baths and showers, hygge life, candles, doing my hair, nails and feet... It relaxes me just thinking about it. I also intend to get a massage at least once every 6 months.

4. My blog! A big resolution of mine is to it forth more effort towards my blog. I plan to begin posting more often and adding pictures to all my posts. Also, once I get it updated more often, I will add social media to the mix.

5. Minimize waste. I feel an urge to further minimize waste in my life. Perhaps I can make more soup to take to school for lunches. Perhaps I can buy dry goods in bulk and use my own bottles, boxes, and bags. I'd like to find reusable baggies for snacks, too.

6. Get more social. Church group, book club, sports, etc. Put more effort into my friends

7. Eat healthier. Eating right. For me this means at least 2 fruits or vegetables in every meal, and cutting down on unhealthy snacks like candy and chips.

8. Get into grad school. Study French. Make more money!

9. Achieve more at work. Do more to show that I am amazing at my job.

10. Go low-maintenance with my hair. I love curling my hair, but I hate the split ends that come with it, even when I use a heat protecting spray. I need to find a good routine for my hair, whether it's a curly girl method, no heat styling, etc. I also want to let my hair go back to a little more natural, darker color.

11. Find ways to give back every day. Practice random acts of kindness, pick up litter, find people in my community who need help, do more little things for my friends and colleagues, and more!

12. Being a wonderful mother! Always and eternally my goal -- to be a fantastic, amazing, wonderful mommy!
